Days turn into weeks.
Weeks turn into months.
Months turn into years.
Then one day you realize the significant things that make you who you are the best parts of you.
Talking today with my daughter the topic of identity came up.
As she shared how others viewed her I could see it bothered her a little.
To me what was said was not negative, but her perception made it negative at moments.
I was able to recognize the same inner conflict I had when I was younger, and the journey to fully embracing me.
The keyword for me is the journey.
Moving through life with opinions, judgment, and criticism can affect you deeply if you are still wrestling with your own self-love.
Why can’t people just celebrate us in life without all the extra remarks?
The answer for me became clear once I was able to celebrate myself.
Like my daughter, I had to view my strengths as valuable assets God gave me.
Everyone may not see the benefits of having you in their life but you must become comfortable with it.
The main question to ask yourself when viewing your attributes is simply this, is it of high quality?
If you can answer “YES” then love should be your next expression to yourself.
Love that exceptional part of you.
See those who come in contact with you as favored they met you (not in a conceited way) but with the assurance of who you are.
You were created in a class of your own and no apologies are necessary.
Build your character to be that remarkable person you know you are created to be.
Take every opportunity to fine-tune your thinking that empowers your behavior.
Do not waste time explaining yourself to others, just stay on the quest to becoming your best version.
The beauty of this journey called self-love leads to you being able to love, celebrate and accept others because you love you!
Remember no apologies needed when you are living your first class self.
Happy Thursday:)
